David Russell (a.k.a. “00” Dave) became an Investigator in 1987. He started his career as an undercover operative, and worked in 7 different jobs ranging from warehouse worker to car salesman with cases lasting 40+ hours per week and from 3 to 7 months each.
He moved up from U/C work to selling investigations to corporations and businesses while working general cases. He has worked cases in and from 31 states including murder, insurance fraud, corporate, divorce, asset searches and missing person. He has personally done over 1,000 surveillances, and supervised many more.
In 1995, David started F.Y.I. Investigations, Inc. in Fort Worth, Texas. He teaches adult continuing education classes on how to become a private investigator, is a certified instructor with the Texas Board of Insurance, and is also a certified instructor with the Texas Bureau of Private Security. He personally teaches seminars on surveillance, marketing, and the business of private investigation, and is also a licensed Private Detective in Georgia.
David has over 500 hours of continuing education credits. In 2002 he completed the rigorous and highly regarded Texas Certified Investigator program. He is also a regular columnist in the Nationally acclaimed “Texas Investigator” magazine for the Texas Association of Licensed Investigators.
David is a member of TALI, N. Texas PI’s, NAIS, Ft. Worth Chamber of Commerce. He has published articles in P.I. Magazine, and many magazines and newsletters of other states' P.I. associations. His work has been featured in many newspaper articles and TV shows, including the Fort Worth Star Telegram, Dallas Morning News, NBC local news, CBS's 48 hours, and Fox News.
